EDEN OF THE south
Few places quite live up to their names, but Eden on the Far South Coast is one of them. Eden tends to come to public attention for just a couple of days during the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, as it is the port to which vessels will turn when in distress. This idyllic fishing village lies on Twofold Bay and is bordered by national parks. Don’t miss the Killer Whale Museum, regarded as one of our finest regional museums. The best live whale watching is between October and November.

The hinterland of Eden is also well worth exploring. The Deua National Park is not one of the best known in the state, but the park, with its fine eucalypt forests, played an important role as a trade route during the early days of settlement. There are a number of well-marked trails.
