Sorrento is a popular and attractive seaside holiday resort located near the western tip of Mornington Peninsula. There are some excellent scenic walks around Sorrento, together with luxury accommodation, historic buildings and sites, dolphin-watching cruises, charter services and ferry trips across to Queenscliff. Sorrento offers both safe swimming on Port Phillip Bay and a surfing beach on Bass Strait. As is the case with many seaside resorts, the main street of Sorrento has a casual playful feel. Of particular interest are Sorrento Marine Oceanarium and Collins Settlement Historic Site on the site of Victoria's first European settlement.
