Arthurs Seat is a steep granite hill on the southern rim of Port Phillip Bay. Climbed in 1802 by Matthew Flinders, Arthurs Seat can now be ascended by road, chairlift or walking track. Arthurs Seat offers outstanding perspectives of Port Phillip Bay, Bass Strait and the Mornington Peninsula. Atop Arthurs Peak are The Old Viewing Tower, a restaurant, a circuit walk, a botanical maze, a car museum and the extensive ornamental gardens of Seawinds.
