Olinda is a small picturesque settlement atop Mount Dandenong which is noted for its galleries, its craft shops and especially its gardens. Along the Olinda-Monbulk Road are the National Rhododendron Gardens, the R.J. Hamer Forest Arboretum, Cloudehill Gardens and Pirianda Garden. Other attractions around Olinda include Bourkes Lookout, the Mt Dandenong Observatory, the William Ricketts Sanctuary, Olinda Falls Picnic Ground and Dandenong Ranges National Park. The Olinda section extends north from Olinda to Kalorama and east towards Silvan Reservoir Park. To the west of Olinda is the Doongalla Section. Excellent cottage accommodation is available at Olinda.
