Sawtell is a peaceful coastal retirement and holiday centre. Part of the City of Coffs Harbour, Sawtell has a pretty beach, lookouts from the two headlands, good walking areas around the river, beach and bush, a fine recreation area near the mouth of Boambee Creek, fishing in the creeks and ocean, boat ramps, surfing, skindiving, a saltwater pool at Bonville Head, safe swimming at Boambee Bay, a BMX track, and the usual amenities for people who want to relax. Also in the Sawtell area are the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House and Storyland Gardens. Fine accommodation is available at Sawtell.
