Blackheath is one of the more substantial and interesting towns in the Blue Mountains. Today Blackheath is famous for its superb rhododendron displays, the magnificent views at Evans Lookout and Govett's Leap (named after a mythical leap made by a brave horseman) north of the Blackheath township, the bushwalks around the edges of the Grose Valley and the range of expensive and classy guesthouses which have become part of Blackheath's appeal to Sydneysiders. Blackheath offers some outstanding rural accommodation.
