Dungog is a pleasant Australian country town. Located in a valley surrounded by rolling hills, Dungog is 74 km north of Newcastle. There are a number of heritage buildings in Dungog and views of the town are excellent from the Dungog Lookout. Dungog is also a good base for an exploration of the fine countryside to the north, where you will find Chichester Dam, state forests and Barrington Tops National Park which are ideal for bushwalking, scenic drives, camping, trail-bike riding and canoeing.
