46 King St Cnr Tasman Hwy/Lilydale Rd Scottsdale TAS 7260

Description of Scottsdale

Scottsdale is the major township in the mountains between Launceston and the east coast of Tasmania. Surrounded by hills, Scottsdale is very much a timber town. Anabel's of Scottsdale, built in the 1890s, is famed for its outstanding gardens. It is currently a restaurant. The Old Scottsdale Post Office (1880s) has become the town's folk museum. The unusual and interesting clock tower outside was erected in 1979. St Barnabas's Church of England (1892) is a small, attractive wooden building. The Bridestowe Lavender Farm is located 15 km west of Scottsdale at Nabowla. Historic accommodation is available at Scottsdale.
