Te Anau is a small town on the shores of Lake Te Anau in New Zealand's spectacular Fiordland. Lake Te Anau, New Zealand's second largest lake, is popular for cruising, kayaking and walking. Around Te Anau itself the visitor can spend time at the excellent Te Anau Wildlife Centre or visit the Te Anau Caves (they are spelt the Maori way 'Te Ana-au'). Many visitors come to Te Anau so they can head for the famous Milford Sound. The town has a range of rural accommodation.
