Sebel Surry Hills Sydney, Sydney City

28 Albion St Surry Hills NSW 2010

Description of Surry Hills

In recent years Surry Hills has become a fashionable inner city destination. Located only 2 km from the city centre, Surry Hills is near to both Oxford Street (with its excellent bookshops, restaurants and nightclubs) and Central Railway Station. It was named after Surrey Hills (the spelling Surry Hills was a local modification) in England. The suburb grew up around the Surry Hills Farm which was owned by Captain Foveaux in the early years of European settlement. Today Surry Hills is a mixture of old style terraces and elegant new apartment blocks some of which are offered as excellent accommodation which enjoys ideal access to the city centre.
