Kings Cross is probably Sydney's most famous suburb. Once the home of bohemians, Kings Cross is now part of the city's impressive nightlife. Accommodation ranging from backpackers to 5-star hotels attract millions of tourists to Kings Cross each year. Located only 2 km from the city centre, Kings Cross was once known as Queens Cross. It was eventually changed to Kings Cross after the death of Queen Victoria. Kings Cross is now home to some of Sydney's finest restaurants including the famous Bayswater Brasserie.
