Picton is a quiet and historic township in the foothills of the Southern Highlands. Once a thriving highway township Picton has a wealth of historic buildings such as the George IV Inn. One of the oldest hotels in Australia it is well-known for the quality of its independent brewery. Other attractions in the Picton area are the Picton Botanical Gardens, Razorback Lookout , the Rail Transport Museum, Thirlmere Lakes National Park, the cycleway that links Tahmoor to Thirlmere, the canoeing on the Bargo and Nepean Rivers and the Maldon Suspension Bridge.
