Description of Guyra

At 1320 metres above sea-level, Guyra is the most elevated town of the New England Tablelands. Located 38 km north of Armidale it is certainly not uncommon to see snow in Guyra during the winter months. Attractions in the town and area include Guyra Historical Museum, the Mother of Ducks Lagoon, Baxter's Farm Museum, Moredun Ponds, Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve and the historic Ollera Station. Trout fishing is also very popular in the area. Visitors to Guyra will find some quality bed-and-breakfast accommodation.
