Description of Paterson
|
|
Paterson is a tiny but attractive little hamlet settled amidst mountains on the Paterson River, 18 km north of Maitland. Paterson is the kind of place which is best explored by means of a leisurely stroll. Of interest are St Ann's Presbyterian Church, the Paterson Courthouse Museum (1857), St Columba's Catholic Church (1884), the Rail Motor Society Museum, John Tucker Park, The Paterson Tavern (1882), the wrought-iron bridge over the Paterson River and All Saints Church, Woodville (1863-64). There are a number of arts and crafts shops in Paterson and some luxury accommodation in the area.
