Brassey of Canberra (The), Canberra

Belmore Gardens & Macquarie St Barton ACT 2600

Description of Barton

Barton is located only a kilometre away from the centre of Canberra. An interesting mixture of government offices and leafy residential areas, Barton edges the East Basin of Lake Burley Griffin. The benefits of accommodation in Barton are proximity to the city centre, pleasant walks around the lake and easy access to some of Canberra's great attractions. Barton was named after Australia's first prime minister, Edmund Barton. It is not surprising that Barton contains both a large statue of Edmund Barton and Edmund Barton House.
